¡Hola!
My name is Shelby. I'm a soon-to-be sophomore studying Biology and Pre-Med at the University of Arkansas. Soon, I will be embarking on a study abroad program in Costa Rica. In San Jose, I will be studying medical spanish and health care.
Preparing to go abroad is extremely different than simply traveling out of the country, if you can imagine! The first part of my preparation is packing. I'm slowly but surely beginning to gather all the items that I need (one of the most essential being a English-Spanish Dictionary, of course :) ). The second part involves the linguistic challenge. My family and I recently vacated in Cozumel, so that warmed up my Spanish-speaking skills a little bit. I realized there's quite a bit I don't know! I'm hoping that my immersion in the Tico lifestyle will be extremely helpful.
I'm so excited for this opportunity! I'm very thankful for my family and friends who have been so supportive. I hope to update my blog daily, so keep an eye out for my posts!
XOXO
Shelby
